In the mid 1950s Henk Banken began production of fresh mushrooms. Since then he has expanded his enterprise by the fermentation of the compost and by commercial activities. Banken Champignons has grown into one of the most significant international enterprises producing fresh and specialty mushrooms. Henk Banken?s two sons (Jurgen and Rob) have followed in their father?s footsteps. In addition to our own production (site), Banken Champignons employs a team of producers who grow champignons exclusively for the needs of Banken. These producers have been selected by Banken Champignons from among a large number of specialised branch farmers and are absolutely the best specialists available. We consult with them regularly on environmentally sound cultivation methods and biological pest control. We also work with them to develop high-quality and innovative cultivation techniques. Maintaining a good relation with our customers is a core value of our enterprise. We provide expertise, good service and flexibility in meeting the needs of our customers. Accordingly, most of our products are delivered to our customers by computer-controlled refrigerated trucks. We can deliver day and night, 365 days a year, to every part of the world. Every week, more than 650 tons of fresh mushrooms produced in our facility are delivered to national and international customers, to foodservices, to importers and exporters, and to wholesalers.
