Donatella Zaccaria has been designing and creating works in glass on commission since 1979. Every work, from artistic stained glass to mosaics, from lamps to mirrors is one of a kind, planned and executed with attention to design, materials used and the wishes of the client. All the glass she uses to create her works is of the finest quality: hand blown glass is used, as well as opalescent glass and tinted and irridescent glass, each pane created even today with time honored original techniques. This allows any category of glass a vast palette of colors with varying degrees of transparency, making possible works of an almost limitless array of brilliant or subtle tonalities. In the Vetri d\'Arte studio all artistic glasswork techniques are utilized: the classic lead technique, the refined techniques of Tiffany, and glass fusion and collage. The resulting panes are used to create highly decorative sliding or hinged doors, windows, folding screens and dividing walls, dropped ceilings and domes. A full service studio for its clients, Vetri d\'Arte draws on its collaboration with established craftsmen who bring to fruition custom designs for supporting frames in wood or iron, wherever applicable.
