28 January 1976. Foundation of Gamesa. Under the name of Grupo Auxiliar Metal?rgico, the company initially operated in the construction and sale of industrial machinery and equipment, in the automotive sector and worked on the development of new technologies for emerging businesses such as robotics, microelectronics, the environment and composite materials.
Over the years, a process which intensified in the 1990s, the company began to focus its business model on two discrete fronts: renewable energies and aeronautics.
